Shipping, Returns & Gifts

How do you ship and how long does it take?

 FREE SHIPPING!  You no longer have to pay for shipping when you shop with us in our online boutique!

 We ship 2 different way depending what you order in our Online Boutique. Please read the shipping details below.

[How We Ship] - All jewelry orders are shipped UPS Ground unless other prior arrangements have been made. Faster shipping can be quoted if needed. ***We cannot ship jewelry orders to P.O. Boxes. UPS cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. Please provide a valid street address where your order can be delivered.***  Once your order has shipped, you will be emailed a tracking number. You can check the status of your order by clicking the link provided.


[Shipping Timeline] - Most orders are shipped within 1-4 business days of placing the order. If we are away at a show, orders will be shipped as soon as we return. You can see our show schedule here. If you are placing an order for a time sensitive gift or special occasion, we encourage you to let us know this in order comments, or send us an order message through your account. We want to make sure your order arrives in time for the big day.

Insert (only) orders are mailed using the United States Postal Service. The address given for "shipping" should be your mailing address. You will receive an email stating that your order has "shipped" via USPS, but there will be no tracking number. The inserts should arrive in your mailbox within a few days. If you order inserts along with a jewelry piece, your inserts will ship within the UPS package.
 
What is your return/repair policy?
RETURN POLICY:We do allow you to return or exchange any item you purchase online if you are not completely satisfied. If you need to return or exchange an item please email customercare@journeylockets.com and explain your situation. We will contact you with a Return Authorization Form for you to enclose with your return.
 
REPAIR POLICY: If your have an issue with a piece of your Journey Lockets jewelry, please let us know.  We stand by our products 100% and will offer to repair or replace it for you if there is a defect.  Send us an email to the address above with a clear photo of the issue.  We will be in touch with instructions.
 
Can I order this as a gift?
Yes! We are happy to ship your order directly to the gift recipient! When you place the order, just fill in the shipping info for the person you want to send it to. We do not include payment or price info on our Packing Slips, so they will not see any prices! We can also include a small gift note in the package that says who it is from with a personal greeting. Just send us a message if you want us to include this in your order at no additional charge!

Not sure what to buy? You can still give Journey Lockets as a gift by ordering our online Gift Certificate. Click the Gift Certificate link at the top of the page in our Online Boutique. You can place the order for your gift certificate there. The information to redeem it will be sent directly to the recipients email address. Then they can then shop for themselves in our Online Boutique!

Product Information

What are Journey Lockets?
Journey Lockets are double-sided glass lockets that open and allow you place interchangeable "inserts" inside.  The interior glass in Journey Lockets are flat and accommodate 2 dimensional (flat) designs.  When you purchase a Journey Locket, you have limitless possibilities for what can be worn inside.  You can create your own inserts, like photos, initials or other creative inserts.  If you would like help creating inserts to wear inside of your Journey Locket, you can use the service we provide online to make your inserts for you.  You can find these choices under Personalize Your Locket.

Many customers regularly order different insert designs, creating their own personal insert collection. They love to change their inserts often, some even daily.  We roll out new insert designs each year to keep your Journey Locket on-trend with the current fashions and colors for the year.  So don't forget to check back often for new insert designs!

 

How do the lockets open?
Each Journey Locket has a screw mechanism on the top portion (bail) of the locket. Simply hold the silver ball that sits directly on top of the square/circle and then rotate the locket while holding the screw ball in place. The silver ball/piece will unscrew up the bail of the locket allowing the locket to fold open at the bottom hinge. Place your 2 inserts in facing outward, close the locket and screw the silver ball back to the downward position.

How do I know what length chain to buy?
The easiest way to determine what length is best is to measure an existing necklace or bracelet you have. Our bracelet sizes and necklace lengths are actually the length of the chain with the toggle. The 1" lockets add 2 inches to the drop on the necklace, and the 3/4" lockets add about 1" to the drop.

Can you put 3D objects inside of the locket?
Our lockets are designed with a flat area in between the 2 pieces of glass.  There is approximately 1mm of space inside of the locket.  This allows flat 2 dimensional inserts to be placed inside.

What is Gold Vermeil?
Gold Vermeil (Pronounced: Vermay) is sterling silver that has been gold-plated. Most of our vermeil is plated with 18K gold. This is a good combination for those with allergy to normal, plated jewelry items. The difference between vermeil, and gold-filled, is in the thickness of the gold and the base metal used. In vermeil, the base is sterling silver.


Personalization Information

How do I get my photos that small?
You actually don't have to worry about that! We provide a personalization service for you, if you choose to use it. You can order Custom Photo Inserts for your Journey Locket that we create using your photographs. You can choose 2 or 6 photos a time. Send us your color images and will make a color AND a Black & White version for you. If you submit 2 images, you will get 4 inserts back. If you submit 6 images, you will get 12 inserts back. We also have an option to add a Moisture Resistant Coating to your inserts. You can check the box if you want to add this to your order.

How do I know what photos will look best?

Oval lockets work only with vertical photos.  These images need to be taken from a distance so we can make the appropriate crop for the vertical oval shape.

Can I get updated photo inserts?
Yes! You can order additional photo inserts any time you like and as often as you like. We know babies grow fast! You can order them here!

Can I get monograms or initials to put into my Journey Locket?
Yes! We love creating the custom monogram inserts. You can order them in our Monogram Section!
 
How do I prevent my inserts from turning in my round Journey Locket?
The best trick is to place a 2-3 more inserts in between the ones facing outward. By adding additional inserts you create a tiny amount of pressure when the locket is closed. This keeps the outward facing inserts in place, pressed up again the glass, and prevents them from moving around loosely. Be careful not to pack it so full that it is hard to close.

How do you care for Journey Lockets Jewelry?
All of our Sterling Silver Jewelry can be cleaned with a sterling polishing cloth or liquid cleaner. If you use a liquid silver cleaner, you can place the locket into the liquid. It will not damage the glass in the locket. We suggest cleaning your jewelry after each time it is worn to prevent excessive tarnish & build up from makeup, lotions, and perfumes. For storage, Sterling Silver pieces should be stored in small sealed plastic bags to minimize tarnish.
